Does the New Maruti Suzuki Dzire Live Up To its Name?

Launched in May 2017, the all new Maruti Suzuki Dzire continues to legacy of its predecessors, which have been the second bestselling car in India, according to an article on The Times of India, with 16,500 units sold each month. The revamped version of the compact sedan comes with an all-new design for the exterior and the interiors, and multiple new features to look forward to. Here’s a look at what the new variant offers.

Interesting New Features

Targeted at private owners rather than fleet operators, the new Maruti Suzuki Dzire 2017 has definitely been upgraded in terms of looks. The new version gets a powerful shoulder line, balanced by the roof that blends into a uniform arch with the windscreen, and a more defined compact boot.

Available in both petrol and diesel options, the compact sedan has also received an auto gear shift, with the petrol versions coming with VVT 1.2 K series engine and the diesel variants having a DDiS 190 engine.

The headlights and front grille have also received a makeover, borrowing their design from the new Swift hatchback, along with daytime running lights and LED projector headlamps available in the higher end variants. You should also prepare yourself to see a lot of chrome additions, from the floating grill to the insides of the headlights, for a sportier look. Even the rear looks less compact now, with the Dzire offering more boot space in its new avatar.

The interiors don’t disappoint either. The all new Maruti Suzuki Dzire, launched in 2017, comes with interiors that give a more premium feel than its predecessors. Moving away from the circular look of the dashboard elements, this time around the Indo-Japanese carmaker has created a rectangular shaped instrument panel, with wedge-shaped vents for the air conditioner, and all new AC controls.

The dual-tone of the interior continues the luxury feel, which is heightened with the faux-wood inserts and the new steering wheel. The new variant also has a longer wheelbase than its predecessor, at 2,450mm, which means that there is more legroom for passengers in the rear. The compact sedan is also wider now, more so than most of the competition. The rear passengers have also been treated to their own set of AC vents, a first for the Dzire series.

All in all, this new and improved version of the Maruti Suzuki Dzire gives prospective owners a lot to look forward to and promises to continue to legacy of being one of the bestselling models from the Maruti stable.
